宛如狩獵一般的美妝新興產品，獵捕了一位亟欲拋下父親影子，改頭換面的少女

對少女卡希米拉來說，照鏡子是一件再痛苦不過的事。卡希米拉並非對外貌感到自卑，而是她和父親極其相似的外表，總是讓她想起被父親遺棄的過去。

因此，當一位朋友向卡希米拉介紹一款全新美妝產品——伊芙華(Evolvoir)——她彷彿找到了救贖。這款產品能改變使用者的容貌。辛勤的卡希米拉每天使用，迫不及待看到那張不再焦慮的臉孔。

與此同時，卡希米拉疏遠的哥哥尼契爾遠在伊芙華的辦公室。他將伊芙華視作一個賺取名利的機會，卻沒想到這項產品日漸浮現的健康問題正使他陷入困境。卡希米拉不幸因為這款產品患病住院，她沒能換取自信的容貌，反而被疾病的牢籠給困住。至於另一頭的尼契爾，面對人命關天的棘手情況，他必須決定自己的道德良心界線。

這部作品講述了一位少女身陷容貌焦慮與身份認同的陷阱，同時揭露長期患病的痛苦與不堪。《標緻》(Ravishing)探索人類為了拋下不堪過往，願意做多少的嘗試——即便不計代價——來換取美貌、接納與愛。

 

伊夏尼‧蘇利亞(Eshani Surya)，來自南亞的作家，現居費城。伊夏尼擁有美國亞利桑那州大學藝術碩士、2022年亞洲女性作家工作坊研究員，也曾獲《凱尼恩評論》(Kenyon Review)作家工作坊獎學金，以及梅伊研究計畫資格(Mae Fellowship)。伊夏尼在個人生活中長期與疾病共存，也將相關經驗投注到文學創作。《Ravishing》是她的小說出道作。
